Power Washer spray gun Safety ...9 Steps

power washer spray gun and wand

A triggered power washer spray gun is designed to control the high pressure spray of a power washer. It can be used with clear water or used with a chemical injection system to spray water mixed with commercially available chemicals.

1. Never direct spray from the gun towards any part of your body or any other person.

2. Always engage the safety lock-off after using a power washer spray gun to prevent unintended operation by others

3. Never block or wire the trigger lever in the open position. Obstructing the trigger lever will cause improper operation and is very dangerous. Discontinue use if gun valve does not close immediately upon trigger release

4. Never exceed the pressure and flow ratings of the gun.

5. Ensure all pressure is released from the system before attempting to repair.

Caution:

6. Wear protective gloves and clothing when working with chemicals.

7. Wear protective gloves and clothing when working with water temperatures over 140F

8. Do not allow gun to freeze. Always store and transport gun in temperatures above
32 F.

9.Inspect and maintain spray gun. Ensure safe operation by inspecting gun for leaks or damage before every use.

In my time I have seen several serious accidents involving the use of power washers. On reflection they were ALL100% avoidable.

Read a few safety guidelines, take them to heart and use a modicum of common sense. Don't get caught in the "It won't happen to me" syndrome. Working safely is working wisely.
